A ten-day visit to the Okavango Delta got off to a slow start in Vumbura, where wildlife was surprisingly sparse, although we did see an active bull Elephant wading around in the water eating aquatic plants. But then we went to Chitabe, and the action moved up several notches! There were Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards all in a densely packed area, but the big highlight was the African Wild Dogs. We witnessed one of my most memorable wildlife encounters with the dogs taking down an Impala. Be warned - this one is not for the feint-hearted!
