Mashatu Game Reserve in the southeastern corner of Botswana is famous for its waterhole, which has a sunken underground hide at one side.This gives superb views of animals both as they approach the waterhole and when they are drinking, and in some cases playing or wallowing in the water. We enjoyed some great encounters over the 5 days we stayed here, with 4 visits to the hide, and with the remainder of the time spent on regular morning or afternoon game drives.
